2023 Town & County Tour of Gardens, Homes and Barns
In even numbered years, the Jennings County Historical Society hosts a homes, gardens, and barns tour featuring some of the unique homes, gardens and barns in the county, many of which played a significant role in our history. In 2017 we partnered with the Indiana Barn Foundation to host its "Barn Tour" featuring Streamcliff, the Kinder barn, and many others, all built before 1950 and thus Hoosier Heritage Barns. In 2020, we had a small group of homes and gardens because of the pandemic but still numerous individuals attended with masks to see homes on North Vernon's Jennings and State Streets and many throughout the county. In 2023 we tour several homes in Vernon and North Vernon plus the Max Hill container home and the Cy Green restored barn. For 2024 we are looking for volunteers and historic properties around the county. If you have a home, barn or garden you wish included, let us know.
